For my final project in Pest, Plagues, and Politics I will be focusing on and discussing one of the poems from one of the most influential writers of the 20th century W.B. Yeats. The poem that I will be analyzing is promptly named "Long Legged Fly". This poem dives deep into the mentality of human and how are minds are constantly moving without making a sound. Yeats constantly refers back to very famous people in history such as Caesar and Michelangelo. two extraordinary humans for what the have accomplished but in totally different disciplines. Yeats is referring to both of these important characters in human history to show that these important figures often sit in silence and use their mind as their tool without making a sound like the long legged fly upon the stream.
